What are your opening times?

We are open all year round, Monday – Friday from 7.30am until 6pm.

When are you closed?

We are closed on Bank Holidays. If there are any extreme circumstances, such as snow that makes it unsafe to get to and from the nursery, we will either close or shorten our opening/closing hours.

Are fees payable all year round?

Yes. This includes bank holidays, illness and family holidays.

Are there a minimum number of sessions I need to book for my child?

We request a minimum of two sessions for your child to attend the nursery. This can be one full day, two morning sessions, two afternoon sessions, or a morning and an afternoon session. The reason for this is to help your child settle in well.

Do you offer discounts if I have more than one child attending the nursery?

Yes, we offer a 10% discount off the oldest child’s fees.

What qualifications do the staff have?

Our staff are trained at Level 3 in Child Care or are working towards their Level 3 qualification. All staff attend child protection and first aid training. Every member of staff is DBS checked before they are left with the children.

  • 0-2 years old – 1:3 staff to child ratio
  • 2-3 years old – 1:4 staff to child ratio
  • 3-5 years old – 1:8 staff to child ratio

What do I need to bring to nursery for my child?

Your child will need a backpack with a couple of changes of clothes in, any comforters they may have, a pot/tube of nappy cream with their name on it so that it can be left at nursery.

How will I know what my child has done at nursery during the day?

Every time you collect your child our staff will give you a full handover of what your child has done that day. The 0-3 year olds have a daily sheet where everything is recorded, such as how much they have eaten, nappy/toilet times and sleep times. This is given with a verbal handover. In the pre-school (3-5 year olds) the staff will verbally hand over to you and inform you about your child’s day, including how they have eaten.

What will my child eat at nursery?

We have a 4 week rolling menu which is put together by our Chefs. A hot dinner is served at lunch time and later on in the afternoon a high tea is served. We also provide snacks in the morning and afternoon. Please see our Meal Times page for further information and our menus.

Are the children taken out on outings?

Yes. We are based in the town centre therefore we are close to many places in the surrounding area. We take the children to the beach, the park, the library, the museum, the pet shop to see the animals, and to the market. When your child starts at nursery we will ask for your consent for outings.

What happens if my child is ill at nursery?

If your child becomes poorly in our care, we will do our best to look after them and call you at the first opportunity to inform you. However if we feel that they are not coping with nursery then we will ask you to come and collect them.

What if my child is on medication?

If your child is on antibiotics then we ask that they do not attend nursery until they have had 48 hours worth administered to them. After the 48 hour period they can come back to nursery and we will continue to administer the doses should they need it during the day.

What will happen if I am late collecting my child?

Session times must be adhered to. However, we do understand that unexpected circumstances may occur, such as a road accident, which may cause you delay in collecting your child. We do appreciate that you call us to let us know that you might be late, and a ‘one off’ is acceptable. Although if this becomes a regular occurrence then you will be charged a late collection fee of £15.00 each time.

What happens if somebody else is collecting my child?

Firstly you will need to inform us that somebody different is collecting your child. We use a password system where you tell us a word and give the the same word to the person who is collecting. That person will need to say who they are collecting and the password at the door once a member of staff has spoken to them through the buzzer entry phone.
